11TH JANUARY 2008
Assalamu Alaikum ya shabab
It has been long time gap that Kokan 11 – Jubail, Saudi Arabia played a competitive match. You can say this as beginning of new season for Kokan 11 with few of the past match winning players having left us and new players replacing them. We hope to continue our winning streak as we did last season.
Coming to the match which was played on 11-Jan-2008 at Shabani Ground on a wet but pleasant winter afternoon against Muzain. Winning the toss, Kokan 11 decided to bat first with Rashid Choudhary and Zameer Chougle opening the batting. Rashid Choudhary batted brilliantly scoring 18 runs of the very first over of the match but unluckily he was out early scoring 23 runs of just 11 balls. One down batsman Muzaffar Bachne did a splendid job and maintained the run rate of above 10 runs per over but he was caught in the deep for 34 runs made of just 17 balls. Zameer Chogle who kept one end going with his firm batting was unluckily run out for a well made 19 runs of 25 balls .Muzaffar Dhamaskar - 42 runs of 24 balls and Wasim Golandaz – 28 runs of 16 balls both remained not out and scored at a brisk pace which help us to score a total of 163 for loss of 3 wicket in the allotted 16 overs.
Chasing the target Muzain team kept losing wickets at regular intervals due which they were always behind the asking rate of 10 runs per over. Our bowlers bowled decently and managed to bowled them out for 121 runs with Zameer Chougle being the most successful bowler taking 3 wkts for 22 runs. Maroof Mitkar supported him by taking 2 wkts for 15. Nadim Pathan, Muzaffar Dhamaskar and Wasim Golandaz also took one wicket each.
It was very difficult to judge the Man-of-the-match since Muzaffar Dhamaskar scored 42 runs in just 24 balls and took one wicket. On the other hand, Zameer Chogle scored 19 runs and took 3 crucial wickets. Finally, it was decided to give them this award jointly for their all-round performance.
A satisfying performance and a good start to a long season ahead. We hope that we will keep up the good performance, Inshaallah.
Best regards,
Nadim Yunus Pathan

7TH SEPTEMBER 2007
The three match series against Al Suwaidi could not be completed as Al Suwaidi didn’t turn up to play the scheduled matches. Hence the series was abandoned.

As a result, on Friday – 07th Sept we played a 16 overs match against one of the stronger team of Jubail – Sahara-XI led by Adel Pasha.

Losing the toss we fielded first and started brilliantly when they got the opening batsmen (Khan) out on the very first ball of the match delivered by strike bowler Wasim Golandaz. As it has been throughout this summer our bowlers bowled brilliantly, though we could manage to take 5 wickets only, but did not gave much opportunity for their batsmen to score runs freely. Inspite of having one of the finest batting line up in Jubail, Sahara XI managed to score just 102 runs for the loss of 5 wkts in their allotted 16 overs. Maruf Mitkar was the pick of the bowlers as he took 3 wickets for 22 runs in his 3 overs

Chasing a target of 103 runs, both the opening batsmen Aslam Chogle and Tausif Pathan batted magnificently, managing to score runs freely they both put of a partnership of 51 runs for the first wicket when Tausif Pathan was out caught behind for a well made 26 runs off 19 balls. This was the only success Sahara XI got, as Aslam Chogle who remained not out on 44 runs scored of just 24 balls and Imtiaz Tambe who scored the winning runs by hitting a six remained not out on 29 runs (3 sixes) scored of just 15 balls. Our team reach the target of 102 in just 10.2 overs with a loss of only 1 wicket…….

Scores:
Sahara-XI : 102/5 in 16 overs
Kokan-XI : 106/1 in 10.2 overs
Kokan-XI Bowling Performance:
